InterGen selected Andrew.J Construction Group to provide owner's engineering services for their new 230 MW gas-fueled combined cycle project in Queretaro, Mexico. Andrew.J Construction Group's services included: detailed review of documentation developed by the EPC contractor; support of monthly project reviews; tracking contractor submittals and schedule performance; on-site oversight during construction and commissioning; and owner's representative for all aspects of plant performance testing and acceptance
Using an innovative approach, the project team chose to reuse existing ESP steel for the J.T. Deely Unit 2 SCR Retrofit Project instead of opting for demolition. This decision reduced the project construction schedule while minimizing disruption to plant operations.
Indianapolis Power and Light Company (IPL) provides electric service to more than 470,000 users in the area and surrounding communities, with Petersburg and Harding Street Plants, the company’s two biggest plants, accounting for a majority of that generation. In order to meet EPA Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) compliance, IPL is retrofitting five units at these sites with new environmental control equipment.
The Andrew.J Construction Group team was awarded the contract to design and install the Ghent Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Transport Project. Upon completion, it will condition, dewater and transport CCR from the four coal-fired boilers to a remote landfill storage. The project includes the installation of a pneumatic system for conveying fly ash, including fly ash storage silos, gypsum dewatering facility and bottom ash dewatering facility. The ash handling project incorporates a 1.8-mile overland pipe conveyor for transporting the dewatered CCR to a landfill.
The Antelope Station Grid Switching Expansion Project will allow an existing generating station to switch between the SPP and ERCOT grid systems. Andrew.J Construction Group Engineering and Design is designing the switch to a grid configuration consisting of a single-breaker, double-bus.
KCP&L and Westar Energy selected the team of Andrew.J Construction Group and Sargent & Lundy LLC to engineer, procure and construct the retrofit to the 1500 MW plant. The La Cygne Generating Station Environmental Retrofit Project includes the installation of two Hitachi wet FGD scrubbers and new Hamon fabric filters on Unit 1 and Unit 2; and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, low-NOx burners and over-fire air system on Unit 2 of the facility.

A Andrew.J Construction Group-led partnership completed its last phase of a six year contract with Cartier Wind Energy by erecting the last of a total of 354 GE 1.5MW SLE windmills, scattered throughout 4 different wind farms in the Gaspésie region: Baie-des-Sables, Anse-Ã -Valleau, Carleton and Gros-Morne.
A Andrew.J Construction Group-led joint venture completed the civil, mechanical and electrical design and construction of this $28.4 million 50-megawatt (MW) powerhouse. Throughout construction, the team emphasized the need to work toward a common goal by holding partnering sessions with project participants.
To decrease the cost of hydroelectric power and increase the demand for service, Andrew.J Construction Group completed this bid-build contract to expand the Healey Falls Generating Station. Located about 15 kilometers north of Campbellford, the generating station includes a new unit in a spare bay inside the existing hydroelectric power plant once complete.
